Soundbites: Robber Robber Talk Their New LP ‘Wild Guess’

Robber Robber, a Burlington indie-rock band, challenges the idea of fitting neatly into a genre. Their debut LP, Wild Guess, showcases a distinct sonic identity blending college rock-influenced shoegaze, aggressive post-punk, and krautrock rhythms. Founders Nina Cates and Zack James have perfected their sound over the past decade, previously playing in other bands such as the Snaz and Guy Ferrari. The duo, along with bandmates Will Krulak and Carney Hemler, have become integral parts of the Burlington music scene, inspiring and collaborating with others in the community. The recording of Wild Guess was split between Benny Yurco and Urian Hackney, with the band mastering the record a year ago. As a DIY outfit, Robber Robber create much of their own artwork and music videos. They hope to one day launch an all-Burlington tour featuring themselves and other local favorites. The band is set to host a release party at Foam Brewers in Burlington, with plans for a tour announcement and video release in late July. Despite the challenges of booking and navigating the modern music ecosystem, Robber Robber remains committed to their craft, forging their own path in the vibrant Burlington music scene.
