New England Youth Theatre proudly presents an Alumni Anniversary Production of “Horse Drawn Yogurt Radio Hour”, written and directed by Peter Gould, to be performed on Friday, June, 28 at 7 pm, and Saturday, June 29 at 7 pm at NEYT, 100 Flat Street, in Brattleboro. Peter’s Vermont memoir, “Horse Drawn Yogurt”, is a collection of true-life stories of a young man’s (his!) life on a farm commune at the height of the back-to-the-land movement. The book is a Green Writers Press original, and Peter has done more than thirty readings around the state. This newest public Horse-Drawn event will be in the form of a “popular radio program with stories and songs and call-ins,” Gould says, and will feature NEYT favorites Andrew Marchev as the show’s host, with Putnam Smith and Jonny Flood as the show’s regular weekly guests. Peter will play himself. Audience members will pretend to be a live studio audience!
Weston Playhouse Theatre Company presents an ode to youth, life, love, and the strange beauty of human connectedness, I AND YOU (July 4 – July 21 | Walker Farm), Tues – Sat 7:30 pm; Wed & Sat 2:00 pm; Sun 3:00 pm.
Written by America’s most-produced playwright over the last two years, Lauren Gunderson, this smart and inspiring story finds teenage Caroline, who has been ill, stuck inside her home for weeks, months, years, an eternity. One afternoon, her classmate Anthony arrives bearing a beat-up copy of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass and an urgent assignment from their English teacher. As these two let down their guards and share their secrets, a seemingly mundane poetry project unlocks the much deeper mystery that has brought them together.
On Monday 6-24-19, Jason Naylor will be at The Dover Elementary School to install a unique mural designed in collaboration with two 6th graders from the school. Visitors are welcome to come to the school grounds throughout the day to watch Naylor paint/work and meet the students behind the project. Find Jason Naylor on IG at @jasonnaylor. Jason is donating his time to this project, but money is needed to pay for supplies. Consider a donation at au.gofundme.com/doverschoolwall.
