Noah Kesey, a Burlington resident and musician, noticed a lack of outdoor music festivals in Vermont and decided to organize A Day in the Sun: The Spirit of Vermont. The festival will take place on September 28 at Red Barn Gardens in Williston and will feature Vermont bands and touring acts like Guerilla Toss and Discovery Zone. The event will offer overnight camping and showcase more than 20 acts, highlighting the vibrant indie rock scene in Burlington. Kesey hopes to capture the magic of local festivals like Nightshade and encourage the growth of the music scene in Vermont. Despite the challenges of organizing a festival, he believes it is important to support small local events that inspire and connect communities. Tickets for A Day in the Sun are now available, and Kesey’s efforts are part of a larger movement to keep the outdoor concert scene in the Green Mountains alive and thriving.
