On the Beat: EDM ‘Revolver’ Series Returns, the Radiance Win Beats for Good

Revolver, a popular electronic music series in Burlington, is set to return after ending in 2017. Started in the early 2000s at Higher Ground in Winooski, the event will be revived this Saturday at the Other Half featuring EDM legend Pete Moss and yogini-producer Gina Turner. The Radiance, a band from Montpelier High School and Twinfield Union School, won the 2024 Beats for Good high school musician contest, earning a $5,000 donation to their music program. The band will open the Do Good Fest, headlined by Fitz and the Tantrums and Rachel Platten, on July 13. The festival, organized by National Life Group, raises funds for Branches of Hope and Howard Center.

Additionally, a recent battle of the bands event at the Old Post in South Burlington raised money to support the fight against type 1 diabetes. The finals featured Karli Blood, Frankie & the Fuse, Embers in Umbra, and EDW, with Frankie & the Fuse ultimately winning. Despite the fundraising goal not being met, the venue owner announced a full match for the funds. Lastly, a Spotify playlist of Vermont jams is available for those looking to discover local music.
