Club d’Elf

Club d’Elf, founded by Mike Rivard in 1998, is a unique collective known for its dynamic and ever-changing performances that blend jazz, funk, hip-hop, and electronic music influenced by Moroccan Gnawa music. The band operates with a rotating lineup of musicians and focuses on creating spontaneous, trance-inducing soundscapes. With his deep interest in trance music and cultural sounds, Rivard guides the band’s direction, ensuring that no two performances are alike. Their music offers a journey through various musical styles and cultures, aiming to transcend ordinary experiences and invite audiences into a timeless realm of music and dance.

Crushed between the borders of Morocco, jam band land and the kingdom of avant-garde jazz lies Club d’Elf…James Brown-meets-Sun-Ra. – Jed Gottlieb, Boston Herald

One of the most inventive and ever-changing bands in all of new jazz…The songs are great, the playing superb, the variety obvious but the main thing is that the spirit of the music is so strong and unique. There is simply not another band like Club d’Elf on the planet. – Russ Davis, Jazz America

Sounds like the lovechild of Pink Floyd and George Clinton, dropped in Marrakesh…some deeply psychedelic music. – Marlon Bishop, WNYC

The Trichomes

Infectious grooves and cosmic riffs, mated with insightful lyrics and a dirty backbeat, spontaneously combust into your shoes’ heels.
Since the band’s union, they have enthralled music lovers from all walks of life, performing at various festivals and venues, making many public appearances, and starting their annual music festival while recording new music.

Trichomes are leaf hairs that reflect radiation, lower plant temperature, and reduce water loss. When you touch trichomes, the scent sticks to you, like the band’s music.

Melting audible chocolate into your ears, the sticky sounds of The Trichomes are not easily forgotten. Neither are their hi-energy funkadelic infused performances. – ROLLING STONE
