The Next Stage Bandwagon Summer Series and Twilight Music present an evening of brass-fueled, swinging music of New Orleans by the Soggy Po’ Boys, on Sunday, October 8 at 3:00 pm at West River Park in Brattleboro, VT.
The freeform psychedelic music collective, Sunburned Hand of the Man returns to our sanctuary for an unforgettable evening of hallucinatory image and sound!
The Powers /Rolin Duo combine hammered dulicimer and 12 string guitar to create shimmering and transcendent mystical folk meditations.
“Sunburned Hand of the Man (aka “Sunburned”) are a loose knit gang of musical artists from the wilds of Massachusetts. Founded in 1994 as a way to let off steam from years of obsessive weirdo record collecting and perversely decoding the hand jive of wanton talents from the psychedelic and punk rock hardcore scenes in the Boston zone… Sunburned was born to be awesome. The nucleus of the group is a small ragtag contingent of fascinants completely focused on the idea of spontaneous composition within the framework of religious experience: the rock n roll EVENT” – Thurston Moore.
“Powers / Rolin Duo are a sage-scented, instrumental love poem which straddles the lines of psychedelic and folk idioms, the two create a language of languid ripples that give the impression of moving through wet caves filled with light reflected off of water. 12-string acoustic guitar and hammered dulcimer mix to dizzying heights as the two players weave in and out of each others’ melodies, finishing each other’s musical sentences. The sounds of the instruments commingle, yielding a cosmic sense of compatibility as if there is little distinction between the players. A deep bliss-inducing ramble through acoustic tonalities. So open up the windows, turn the volume up, and let the Powers/Rolin duo be the soundtrack to your Summer and all the kaleidoscopic days ahead.” -Raven Sings The Blues
