Stone & Snow with Luminous Crush at Stage 33 Live

August 25, 2023 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

NPR-heralded midwest touring duo Stone & Snow will give an intimate concert at Stage 33 Live, 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls VT on Friday evening, August 25, 2023, at 7:00 PM, on a generously reduced-rate $10 ticket. (Their show in Maine the following day is $25.) Regional favorites Luminous Crush will open in their acoustic duo configuration. Limited seating; the event will be recorded and filmed. More info and tickets at stage33live.com

Named “Best Folk/Soul Artist” at the 2022 Richmond International Film + Music Festival, Stone & Snow is an Americana pairing of songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Karen Bridges and Clint Thomson. Their collaboration is filled with close harmonies and thoughtful lyrics, with a name that nods to mountain landscapes. Their latest album, Delicate and Wild, released this year, was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer David Mayfield.

“The band’s multi-genre sound pulls from folk, indie rock, swing and soul — somehow stitching it all together seamlessly.” — Elle Manion, NPR Music (All Songs Considered)

“Their rich vocal harmonies and warm vibe will leave you wanting to see more from this midwest duo.” — American Songwriter Magazine

“If Florence and the Machine made folk music, it might sound a little like Stone & Snow.” — Katie Anastas, NPR Music (All Songs Considered)

Laura Molinelli and Ben Campbell of Luminous Crush will open in their acoustic duo configuration — sometimes dubbed AcoustiCrush — with their highly developed fusion of bluegrass, outlaw country, dream pop, and indie rock. Laura came up as a singer-songwriter during the ’90s NYC folk scene alongside such artists as Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky. Ben has written and produced records under the moniker “Saint Albums” on the indie label Lonely Highway, and collaborated with musical luminaries including Tony-winning artist Anaïs Mitchell (Hadestown), Caleb Elder (Route 7 Ramblers) and Jake Geppert (Bondville Boys).

Tickets for this 7:00 PM show on Friday, August 25 have been generously discounted to $10, either in advance through stage33live.com or at the door. Advance tickets guarantee entry if the intimate 40-person capacity is reached. The event will be recorded and filmed.

Stage 33 Live is a casual and intimate industrial-rustic listening room in a former factory hosting local, regional, and national performances and presentations of original material. No bar or kitchen, the stage is the mission; coffee / soda / juice / water and a variety of snacks are available by donation. More info about the nonprofit, all-volunteer project, and this and other upcoming events, online at stage33live.com

Stage 33 Live gratefully acknowledges the help of so many individuals without whom none of this would be happening, and institutional support this season from The Island Corporation, the Vermont Arts Council, the Bellows Falls Opera House, the Rockingham Arts & Museum Project, and WOOL-FM to help fund improvements and maintenance, and generally smooth out a lot of the rough edges. Stage 33 Live is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and all donations are deductible to the fullest extent. Volunteers run the thing from stem to stern.
