The Schlock it to Me! movie party series is back for another round. And for October, we’re leaning into Halloween just a bit with the deliciously deranged 1962 Bette Davis–Joan Crawford Hollywood thriller, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
Film critic Judy Berman of VICE said, “Few films blur the line between cult classic and canonical masterpiece as thoroughly as What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” Roger Ebert called it “one of Hollywood’s best gothic grotesqueries.” There are some very good reasons why—more than 50 years after its release, it’s still finding new audiences, and getting old fans to return for more.
