Ruthie Foster brings her soulful blend of blues, folk, gospel, and roots music to the Stone Church.

Raised in Gause, Texas, Foster grew up surrounded by gospel music and the voices of her mother, grandmother, and artists such as the Gospel Keynotes and the Blind Boys of Alabama. Her path has taken her from Navy band vocalist to New York songwriter to one of contemporary roots music’s most distinctive performers.

Foster’s music draws on love, loss, resilience, and the deep musical traditions that shaped her. Her albums include Runaway Soul, The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, Let It Burn, Promise of a Brand New Day, Joy Comes Back, and Healing Time, along with three live albums.

Her album Mileage, released on Sun Records, won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards—Foster’s first Grammy win and a landmark moment for the historic label.
