The Juno Orchestra presents a concert titled “Heaven’s Border,” featuring works by women composers Sunday, April 30, at the Brattleboro Music Center.
The 4 p.m. concert will present five works for string orchestra: Grazyna Bacewicz’s Concerto for String Orchestra; Libby Croad’s Suite for String Orchestra; Jessie Montgomery’s Strum;
Barbara Strozzi’s O Maria and Salve Regina from Savri Musicali Affeti; and Dobrinka Tabakova’s Organum Light.
The Strozzi work, composed for soprano and continuo, will feature soprano and BMC Faculty member Junko Watanabe in an arrangement for soprano and orchestra by Dana Maiben, baroque music specialist and Juno violinist.
