Harvesting Hues: Natural Dye Workshop Series

Retreat Farm is excited to announce Harvesting Hues, a natural dye workshop series led by artist and educator Kate Milliken and featuring acclaimed fiber artist Gail Callahan. Beginning June 20, the series invites participants of all ages and experience levels to explore the remarkable colors hidden in food scraps, garden plants, and the natural world around us.

June 20 – Compost Dyeing

July 18 – Antho-Who!? Sun Printing with Turmeric 

August 1 – Garden harvest for dye making 

September 6 – Eco-Printing workshop 

Harvesting Hues is part of Retreat Farm’s new Land & Its People Initiative—a program exploring the deep, layered histories of this land and the communities who have shaped it, and who have been shaped by it. Natural dyeing is one of our oldest relationships with plants, and these workshops invite us to reconnect with dye plants in a hands-on, creative way.
