GUIDES & PRACTICES

Joyce St. Jean

Joyce St. Jean is a Forest Therapy Guide trained through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides. She is Certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR.  Joyce is an avid hiker who has always felt most alive when moving through nature and challenging herself physically.  She came to Forest Therapy after recognizing the healing power of slowing down and being with nature.
A Forest Therapy Walk includes gentle movement as you walk through the forest guided by invitations that will awaken your senses, restoring your connection to nature and yourself. There will be moments of silence and sharing your experiences as we connect to the beauty and simplicity of the natural world.  We will commence our walk with a tea ceremony.

Julia Hampton

Julia Hampton is a Non-Diet Nutritionist and Cognitive Behavioral Coach who specializes in helping people who feel anxious or out-of-control around food find confidence and ease in eating to support their well-being. She has a BA in social work and an MS in nutrition and dietetics. She runs her own practice, Nourishing Vitality, LLC, which provides personalized nutrition counseling, life coaching, and motivational interviewing training.
An Eating Awareness Practice is a way to become aware of the complexities involved in our everyday eating experiences. What influences our choice of foods? What creates satisfaction? How do we know how hungry or full we are? How does our evaluation of our choices and actions impact how we feel about food and ourselves? When we take the time to be curious, we open the opportunity for self-compassion and more conscious choices.

Jen Frey

Jen Frey is a Yoga and Meditation Teacher and Sleep Coach. She has 20 years of experience practicing yoga asana and has completed the 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training and the Triyana Studies 3-year Mindfulness Program with Kevan Gale and the Fluid Yoga School. She now serves as one of the school’s lead instructors. She teaches yoga teacher training, asana, and mindfulness classes out of her yoga studio, Village Yoga, in Newfane, Vermont.
She has broadened her mindfulness offerings to include therapies focussed on Chronic Insomnia. Founded in her difficulty with chronic insomnia, she became a certified sleep coach through Dr Gregg Jacobs of Harvard in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). She now coaches chronic insomnia sufferers with the techniques she has practiced herself.

Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation technique and type of meditation.  This guided practice creates a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping that helps to transform the mind and body.
