Corey Harris with Sunny Lowdown
Corey Harris is a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter who has carved out a singular place in contemporary blues. Rooted in tradition yet boldly expansive, his music weaves together blues, reggae, soul, rock, and West African influences. A former New Orleans street singer who spent a formative year living in Cameroon, Harris has toured worldwide and collaborated with artists including B.B. King, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Tracy Chapman, Wilco, and the Dave Matthews Band. He was featured in Martin Scorsese’s film Feel Like Going Home and received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2007.
Opening the evening is Sunny Lowdown, a master of slide guitar known for deep grooves, slow-burning blues, and a raw, hypnotic sound. A Blues Blast Music Award nominee and winner of the Vermont Blues Challenge, Lowdown brings an understated, powerful approach focused on tone, phrasing, and feel.
