BAFM – Lots of Spring Starters & The Woodpeckers Are Playing

May 20, 2023 @ 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Looking for spring produce, garden starters, and flowers?

This Saturday at the Brattleboro Area Farmer’s Market you will find lovely spring produce, such as rhubarb, asparagus, and spring greens, as well as Irises and ready-to-be-planted herbs, flowers, and other starters. There will also be plenty of eggs (including blue and green ones!) and raw milk. Come to the manager’s booth with any questions on where to find what you’re looking for and remember that if you have EBT – $20 turns into $60 with Crop Cash!

Come out to hear the Woodpeckers quartet joyfully play the classic Swing music of the 1920’s and 30’s from 11 am to 1 pm. In a highly improvisatory, good-humored, spontaneous, conversational, and interactive style, The Woodpeckers interpret the exhilarating music of that time. The members are: Ron Kelley – tenor sax, Walter Slowinski – clarinet, Ty Gibbons – upright bass, and Mark Anagnostopulos – rhythm guitar.

The Brattleboro Town Agriculture Committee will be tabling to recruit members. The Agricultural Advisory Committee is charged with advising the Selectboard on all issues related to the use, development, and preservation of farms and farmland and the pursuit of a resilient local food system within Brattleboro.
The Agricultural Advisory Committee meets as needed, depending on the status of various projects and programs.
