ALICE (Něco z Alenky, 1988).
A visually fantastic combination of live-action, claymation, puppet theatre, and stop-motion animation, Czech animator Jan Svankmajer’s masterpiece is a strikingly original interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s classic “The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland (1865). When Alice follows the White Rabbit into the surreal, dream-logic reality of Wonderland, so begins our expedition into the psychological landscape of childhood, a journey of the imagination both whimsical and dark.
The Empyreans are an improvisational ambient collective featuring rotating musicians from various locations. The concept was created by multi instrumentalist/composer Craig Douglas (Neonach, Circus Of Dead Squirrels, Obliquity). The intention was to gather like minded enthusiasts of spacious and minimal ambient music for a one time collective performance in sound and time. All performances are entirely spontaneous, meditative and in the moment. They are meant to be a gift, tossed into the universe for a one time only experience.
