Hidden among an impressive lineup of concerts and events at Retreat Farm this summer are Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem. From the Newport Folk Festival to the California World Music Festival and beyond, this band’s steadfast brew of wit, camaraderie, and musicality leaves audiences humming and hopeful.

With bluegrass barnstormers, sultry swing, old-time gospel, and bluesy folk-rock, Rani Arbow & Daisy Mayhem’s soul-lifting music is the perfect antidote to the ongoing flood watches and excessive rainfall we’ve been experiencing in Vermont.

Take an opportunity to dance, sing, and hum along to the music Friday, July 21st, at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited to come early for a pre-show reception in Retreat Farm’s newest gathering space, The Landing. Located near the Thirsty Goat Bar, The Landing is an intimate space and the perfect canvas for future art installations.

Children are also invited to make a music shaker with Rani & Daisy before the show. The pre-show reception and kids workshop will take place from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Thanks to generous support from Prentiss Smith & Co., and funding from the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program, the show and workshop are free for children under 12. Tickets are available online at retreatfarm.org and at the gate.

“We’re so grateful to community-minded organizations for their support of Retreat Farm. It’s local businesses like Prentiss Smith & Co., Brattleboro Savings & Loan, New Chapter, and many more that help keep programming at the Farm accessible. It takes a village to keep a 500+ acre community resource thriving, and we’re grateful to work with supportive businesses and organizations who care deeply about the arts, environment, and community health,” shared Executive Director Kristin Sullivan.

“I hope folks will join us on Friday before the show to learn about what community support allows us to do and how to get involved.”

In the event of rain, this performance will be held on Thursday, September 7th. Visit retreatfarm.org to view the full schedule of events, concerts, farm tours, cheese pairings, yoga classes, and more.
