Exciting news for Vermont music lovers! Stage 33 Live, a cozy nonprofit listening room in Bellows Falls, has kicked off its own podcast, offering a fresh look at live performances. Airing every third Thursday, the “Stage 33 Live Podcast” features hour-long episodes available on YouTube and major streaming platforms. Each installment showcases clips from local, regional, and nationally touring musicians, all centered around themed performances. The first episode, “Food,” includes delightful tracks like Ian Galipeau’s “Cotton Candy” and Ninja Monkey’s “Juice.” It’s a fantastic way to experience the talent that graces this unique venue housed in a former industrial factory on the Connecticut River.
On another note, mark your calendars for a compelling benefit concert on Saturday, September 27, at The Monkey House in Winooski. This show will support Migrant Justice, a vital organization advocating for the rights of migrant workers in Vermont. With Burlington indie-rockers Peg Tassey & the Loud Flowers, Boston’s Stace Brandt, and new locals Emo Girls Kissing on the lineup, all proceeds will go directly to this important cause.
Tassey, a long-time staple of the Burlington music scene, is also gearing up to record her debut LP with her new band and plans to take their music on the road next spring for a tour across Vermont town halls.
And don’t miss the sixth annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Rocks! celebration on October 4 at Shelburne Farms. Headlined by Grammy-nominated blues artist Kenny Neal, this one-day festival aims to raise awareness about health disparities among Vermont’s Native people and promises a powerful lineup, including Carly Harvey and the Dave Keller Band. Be part of the vibrant Vermont music scene and show your support!
