The Shelburne Museum recently hosted the Ben & Jerry’s Concerts on the Green series, powered by Higher Ground Presents, kicking off summer with four vibrant outdoor performances. The series began with a sold-out show on Monday featuring Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and Kevin Morby, who both showcased their bands. This was followed by another sold-out event on Tuesday with the eclectic band Khruangbin. Wednesday featured a triple bill of BNNY, Briston Maroney, and headliner Peach Pit, attracting a significant crowd.
Friday’s concert was particularly exciting, promising a night of rock and roll amidst moody skies and strong winds. The highlight was four-time Grammy winner Gary Clark Jr., who headlined alongside his long-time collaborator, Eric “King” Zapata. The performance was visually captivating, especially with opener Grace Bowers on stage, wielding a right-handed Gibson SG Special, alongside left-handed guitarist Prince Parker, who played an upside-down Fender Stratocaster. This unique visual pairing added a distinctive flair to the evening.
The combination of top-notch musicianship, engaging performances, and the welcoming atmosphere of the Shelburne Museum made these concerts a memorable kickoff to the summer music season. Each act brought its own flavor, contributing to an eclectic mix that appealed to a diverse audience, proving once again that live music has a unique power to connect people and create unforgettable moments.
