Eye on the Scene: Two Sev at Big Lake Recording

On April 4, a new music production space called Big Lake Recording officially opened in Burlington, transforming a previously vacant location that had been empty for two years. The studio is now operated by local recording engineers and producers Dan Rome, Ian Steinberg, and Mark Balderston, who utilized their extensive experience and high-quality gear to create an impressive environment for music production. The space was once occupied by therapy offices but has been redesigned into a beautiful set of studio rooms tailored for musical creation.

To celebrate the opening, Big Lake Recording held a small open house, inviting local musicians to explore the new facility and experience its potential. During the event, Two Sev, a well-known DJ in Burlington, provided a lively atmosphere with engaging party vibes in the main tracking room. The studio’s aesthetic is enhanced by artwork on loan from the S.P.A.C.E. Gallery located on Pine Street, which contributes positively not only to the music scene but also to the visual arts community in the area.

Big Lake Recording is poised to become a significant asset for Burlington’s local music production landscape by offering a state-of-the-art facility for artists to record and create. The combination of the studio’s professional setup and the artistic contributions from the local community showcases a collaborative spirit that aims to enrich the cultural fabric of Burlington. With its commitment to fostering both music and visual arts, Big Lake Recording represents an exciting development in the local creative scene.
