Sol y Canto is an award-winning Pan-Latin ensemble led by Puerto Rican/Argentine singer and percussionist Rosi Amador and New Mexican guitarist, singer, and composer Brian Amador. Known for making their music accessible to both Spanish- and non-Spanish-speaking audiences of all ages, Sol y Canto features Rosi’s crystalline voice and Brian’s lush Spanish guitar, alongside inventive compositions.
The Soubrettes is a vocal ensemble under the umbrella of the Vermont Jazz Center, led by director/arranger Anna Patton. The group performs intricate vocal harmony arrangements of swing, jazz, and blues, as well as songs by contemporary songwriters. A soubrette is a term from musical theater referring to the non-leading lady, who is often more worldly, instrumental in the plot, and funnier than the lead. These are the kinds of songs the group tends to perform—songs with wit, sass, and plenty of character.
