Robots & Lasers: Digital Fabrication Camp

Open to students entering grades 7–8–9 • No experience needed!

Give your child a hands-on, creative experience at HatchSpace, Brattleboro’s woodworking school and community woodshop. Our Robots & Lasers Camp invites middle schoolers to explore the world of woodworking through modern digital tools and classic shop techniques, all in a safe, supportive and expert-led environment.

Over five afternoons, campers learn the fundamentals of woodworking using CNC (computer numerically-controlled) design and fabrication tools. Whether they’re brand new to tools or already love building things, every camper leaves with new skills, new confidence, and projects they’re proud of.

Choose Your Projects
Campers vote on their 2 favorite project ideas when they register.
Project choices include: 

• Peg Board Coat Rack
• Secret Stash Box
• Custom Inlay Sign
• Two-Tone Marble Maze
• Ping Pong Ball Blaster

In addition to their main builds, kids will craft mini projects and assemblage art during creative free-play time, using a variety of tools and materials.

Daily Schedule
 1:00–1:30 – Arrival, greetings, independent play
 1:45–3:45 – Project Time
 3:45–4:15 – Cleanup & shop reset
 4:15–4:30 – Closing Circle & share-out

Need-Based Scholarships: HatchSpace seeks to make our summer camps possible for any youth student who wants to join. We offer generous need-based scholarships each year.
