In this heartwarming film, lonely housewife Ila (Nimrat Kaur) tries to rekindle the spark in her marriage by preparing a special lunch for her inattentive husband. But the lunch is mistakenly delivered to Saajan (Irrfan Khan), a solitary widower. As Ila discovers her husband’s lack of response, she adds a note to the next day’s lunch, and a unique friendship begins to form between them. Without ever meeting in person, Saajan and Ila share their joys and sorrows through their letters, creating a beautiful, unlikely connection.

The NXT Feast & Film Series draws together a cross-section of community members and organizations from Windham County’s rich culinary and creative landscape to explore and celebrate the interconnectedness of place, cultural expression, and belonging.
The series is curated by Deborah Krasner, Putney’s own James Beard Award winner and author of seven books on food, design, and kitchens. Deborah will provide introductions to the films.
