Make A Wooden Blanket Ladder

This day-long workshop introduces core woodworking skills as you build a wall-leaning blanket ladder from start to finish. It’s designed for beginners and is a straightforward, hands-on way to get comfortable in the woodshop while making something useful for your home.

Learn. You’ll get comfortable using key shop tools like the table saw, miter saw, drill press, and common hand tools. The class covers measuring, cutting, drilling, sanding, and assembly, with a focus on working safely and accurately. We’ll also touch on basic design choices and finishing so your ladder comes together cleanly.

Make. Each student will build and take home a finished hardwood blanket ladder. You’ll have time to add your own design elements along the way – through paint, carving, or simple veneer details – so your ladder reflects a personal take on a traditional form.

Saturday, March 14  |  9:30am – 5pm  |  Class will break for a 1/2 hour lunch.
