Carson is the Composer in Residence at the Memorial Church, Harvard University. As an organ recitalist he specializes in the performance of contemporary music. His program for September includes works by Angelo Maria Trovato, Dean Rosenthal, Yûitirô Katô, Sarah Davachi, Thomas Åberg, and Karen Beaumont.
