Beginning Woodworking: Make a Tray | July 16-Aug 20 (Six Tues Nights)

July 16 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

$470.25 – $545

No woodworking experience required

Working from technical drawings, students learn to mill rough lumber, cut joinery, and complete basic wood shaping processes. With hands-on practice, students build confidence with woodworking machines and gain a deeper understanding of wood as a structural material. Tools and materials are provided. Feel free to bring your own safety glasses and hearing protection if you prefer, though HatchSpace has plenty to share. Attendance is important. Please be prepared to attend all class meetings. There are no make-up classes.

Notes about safety: Wear close-toed shoes or boots. Tie long hair back. No loose, dangly clothes like drawstrings, scarves, loose sleeves, etc. Please leave all jewelry at home.

Get Certified. This class will cover the safe operation of some of our major woodworking machines (table saw, miter saw, jointer, planer, bandsaw) and will help prepare you for our certification tests. To use these machines independently, you must be a member and pass one or more certification tests. For more information and to schedule a testing session, please contact info@hatchspace.org.
