Dahlia Dumont is a Brooklyn-born, nomadic singer-songwriter and ukulele player, whose travels have shaped her unique musical style. Drawing from her Eastern European roots and years of studying anthropology in France and Senegal, she founded The Blue Dahlia in 2012. Her music blends English and French lyrics with influences from French and Mexican accordion, klezmer violin, reggae, ska, Latin rhythms, and the sensual tones of jazz and French chanson.
The Blue Dahlia can be experienced both as an intimate acoustic trio in New York and Paris bistros and as an electric big band at global venues and festivals. Dahlia’s discography includes her debut album The Blue Dahlia (2015), La Tradition Américaine (2018), and singles like En Dehors du Temps (2016), The Walls: In Confinement (2020), BETTY and We Need You (2020), and Blue Moon ‘Lune Bleue’ (2020).
A France Rocks artist of the French embassy in New York, Dahlia now divides her time between New York and Paris, each with its own band.
The Bandwagon Summer Series is a family-friendly outdoor cultural performance series running from May through September. Performances including a diverse group of musical styles will take place at ballfields, farms, and parks throughout Putney, Brattleboro, and Bellows Falls. Kids under 12 always get in for free, and a dedicated play area will be available at all shows. Refreshments are sold onsite, including the return of the hugely popular Barr Hill cocktails, and food from Putney General Store. Bring a picnic and a blanket or fold-up chair to enjoy our concerts.
