BRATTLEBORO, VT – On Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, acclaimed artist Tara Geer will lead a unique workshop, Drawing from Your Senses, at the River Gallery School (32 Main Street #201) in Brattleboro. This interactive event encourages participants to explore drawing using all five senses—touch, sound, smell, taste, and sight.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up a pencil for the first time, Geer’s workshop welcomes all experience levels. The only requirement is the ability to draw independently. Advance registration is required, and spots are limited.

About Tara Geer & the Desire Lines Exhibit
Geer is one of six artists featured in the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center’s (BMAC) group exhibition “Desire Lines”, on display through February 9, 2025. The exhibit explores the expressive power of drawing as a primary medium, featuring works by:

Geer’s featured works in Desire Lines range from delicate, floating shadings to bold, burnished strokes on large-scale drawings, revealing her mastery of the medium.
About Tara Geer
A practicing artist and educator for over three decades, Tara Geer has taught everyone from museum educators and Yale doctors to children with visual processing challenges and blocked artists. She holds a BA and MFA from Columbia University and currently teaches in the Art and Art Education program at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Her artwork has been showcased in solo exhibits across the U.S. and is part of prestigious collections, including:
- The Morgan Library & Museum
- The Parrish Art Museum
- The William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art (as part of the Victory Garden Collective)
Her work has also inspired two books and two documentary films.

About the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC)
