This fall and winter, the museum’s East Gallery has been transformed into The Living Room, a comfy space for visitors to hang out, read, chat, and enjoy artwork created by our talented friends at Brattleboro’s In-Sight Photography Project.
In-Sight’s second annual Youth Photo Contest & Fair empowered young photographers to share their artwork with the community and professionals in the field. Photographers ages 11-18 living within an hour of Brattleboro were invited to submit images in a variety of categories. A jury of esteemed photographers, both local and national, selected the images to receive the top honors and awards.
Since 1992 In-Sight has been creating opportunities for youth to use photography as an expressive and technical medium for artistic and personal growth. This contest is an embodiment of In-Sight’s core values of belonging, community, and youth empowerment through the photographic arts.
Do you have a community-based art project you’d like to see showcased in a future iteration of The Living Room? If so, contact Director of Exhibitions Sarah Freeman at sarah@brattleboromuseum.org.
