      The 23rd annual Brattleboro Literary Festival will take place Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20 in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. We are over the moon to welcome over 40 stellar literary authors that include National Book Award winners and finalists, two 2024 National Book Foundation “5 Under 35” honorees, New York Times bestselling authors including an Obama 2024 summer pick, the daughter of two Hollywood legends, the daughter of a sixties rock icon and a Newbery award winner! Featured authors and their books include National Book Award Winner Sigrid Nunez(The Friends) with her new novel, The Vulnerables; National Book Award finalist Julia Phillips (Disappearing Earth) with her new novel Bear; National Book Award and Newbery Award winner M.T. Anderson with his new novel Nicked; well-known late night talk show comedian Gary Gulman with his growing-up-in- the-80’s memoir Misfit; vocalist, writer and artist Melissa Newman with her photo essay book Head Over Heels, a Love Affair in Words and Pictures, the story of her parents Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward; President of the National Constitution Center and contributing editor to the Atlantic Jeffrey Rosen with his new book, The Pursuit of Happiness; two 2024 National Book Foundation “5 Under 35” honorees, Tyriek White (We Are A Haunting)and Zain Khalid (Brother Alive); New York Times bestselling author Adelle Waldman—author of an Obama 2024 summer pick (Help Wanted) and actress, singer and author Moon Unit Zappa, daughter of Frank Zappa with her memoir Earth to Moon.

      All events are free and open to the public; seating is on a first come basis in various venues in downtown Brattleboro. Books will be for sale by Toadstool Books in Peterborough and Keene, NH on site at each event and authors will sign them at their event. There will also be a pop-up bookstore in the lobby of the Brooks House, hosted by the Wild Book Company in Newfane, VT.

      This year’s Festival is sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council, the Stepanski Family Trust, Brattleboro Community Television, The Porch Cafe and Poets & Writers.
