The Faux Paws are a triangle band in a land of circles. Musically impossible to pin down, they defy even today’s most hyphenated genre labels. Is it bluegrass? Not usually. Old-time? Occasionally. Celtic? Not quite. Folk? Americana? Jazz? Singer-songwriter? None of the above—yet the members of The Faux Paws have deep roots in all of these traditions, blending their elements effortlessly in service of each musical idea.
Dynamic, exciting, sincere, irreverent, infectious, and surprising, they shift seamlessly between moods, influences, and instruments. Their performances feature fiddle, mandolin, guitar, saxophone, heartfelt lyrics, three-part “brother” harmonies, playful interplay, intricate arrangements, soaring improvisations, and a rhythmic groove that pulses through the music like a heartbeat.
The Twilight On The Tavern Lawn Series is a series of bluegrass, Americana, world, swing, and pop music summer concerts running every other Sunday from June 1 through August 24. The series is sponsored by Next Stage, the Town of Putney, and many Putney area businesses and organizations. The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available.
