Experience the 19th Season of the Brattleboro Winter Farmers’ Market: Local Food, Artisans, and Community
As the chill of winter sets in, the Brattleboro Winter Farmers’ Market warms up, welcoming locals and visitors to a weekly celebration of fresh, locally sourced foods, artisanal crafts, and community spirit. Hosted every Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, November through March, the market is a beloved gathering spot located at the Winston Prouty Campus, 60 Austine Drive, in Brattleboro.
Since opening in 2006, the Winter Farmers’ Market has blossomed into a five-month marketplace where farmers, bakers, and artisans bring their best offerings, creating a vibrant hub for local shopping and community connection. With its welcoming atmosphere and rich history, the market has grown into the only weekly winter farmers’ market in Windham County and remains one of Vermont’s longest-running markets.
What You’ll Find Each Week
Every Saturday, the market bursts with an incredible variety of local foods and handmade goods. Market favorites include:
- Fresh vegetables, fruits, and seasonal produce from local farms
- Grass-fed and pastured meats, dairy products, and farmstead cheeses
- Artisan-made preserves, baked goods, honey, syrups, and fresh cider
- Handmade crafts, including jewelry, soaps, and woolens
Whether you’re planning a home-cooked meal or hunting for unique gifts, the Winter Farmers’ Market has something for everyone. Plus, live music and a cozy café in the gymnasium provide the perfect spot to relax and savor a warm meal while enjoying the tunes of local musicians.
Supporting Local Farmers and Artisans
Shopping at the Winter Farmers’ Market directly supports local producers, as every dollar spent goes back into our community. This market was founded by Post Oil Solutions, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability in Southeastern Vermont, with a mission to bolster the local economy and strengthen year-round access to local food. Here, you’ll buy directly from those who grew, raised, or created the goods on display, learning firsthand about sustainable and seasonal products.
Special Offer for SNAP Shoppers
The Brattleboro Winter Farmers’ Market participates in programs to help stretch food budgets. SNAP shoppers can turn $10 into $30 with market coupons, and the Crop Cash and Boost Your Bread programs are back, making fresh, local food accessible to more families.
Getting to the Market
The Winston Prouty Campus offers ample parking, accessible facilities, and beautiful surroundings perfect for winter strolls. Prefer not to drive? The local MOOver service operates on Saturdays, making it easy for everyone to get to the market.
