Stuck in Vermont: The Champlain Valley Quilt Guild Prepares for Its Biennial Quilt Show | Stuck in Vermont | Seven Days

The Champlain Valley Quilt Guild, established in 1979, has been promoting quilting and connecting crafters in Chittenden County. With almost 100 members, the guild gathers monthly and has made hundreds of quilts for various charities. Their biennial show, “Seams Like Spring,” will be held from April 26 to 28 at the Holy Family Parish Hall in Essex Junction, showcasing over 100 quilts with a raffle for one lucky winner to take home a quilt.

Seven Days senior multimedia producer Eva Sollberger visited the guild members at a Burlington home prior to the show. They used a longarm quilting machine in their craft room, allowing Eva to try it out without thread in the needle. The quilters worked on next year’s raffle quilt and shared their passion for quilting.

The episode of Stuck in Vermont featured this meeting with the guild members and was supported by New England Federal Credit Union. The guild is one of about 20 quilt guilds in Vermont, providing a space for quilters to come together, create, and support their community through their craft. The members of the Champlain Valley Quilt Guild are dedicated to their art and enjoy sharing it with others through their shows and charitable endeavors.
