Stuck in Vermont: Goth Family in Waterbury: Sarah, Jay and Zarek Vogelsang-Card | Stuck in Vermont | Seven Days

Seven Days is featuring a couple, Sarah and Jay Vogelsang-Card, who will not be celebrating Valentine’s Day with anything pink. They married in 2009 at a gothic-themed “Hallowedding” and Halloween is their favorite holiday. They have a 12-year-old son named Zarek and live in a haunted house in Waterbury with their pets, Newfoundland dog, Domino, and tuxedo cat, Zinie. Sarah works with Puppets in Education, a program of Vermont Family Network, and has been dealing with limited mobility due to a neuromuscular disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth. Seven Days met the family for a tour of their unique home and to hear the story of how they met before they departed for California where Sarah had reconstructive foot surgery. They regularly post photos on social media with the hashtag #cmtawareness. The episode was supported by New England Federal Credit Union and features music by Coyote Hearing and Patrick Patrikios.
