Seven Days is featuring a couple, Sarah and Jay Vogelsang-Card, who will not be celebrating Valentine’s Day with anything pink. They married in 2009 at a gothic-themed “Hallowedding” and Halloween is their favorite holiday. They have a 12-year-old son named Zarek and live in a haunted house in Waterbury with their pets, Newfoundland dog, Domino, and tuxedo cat, Zinie. Sarah works with Puppets in Education, a program of Vermont Family Network, and has been dealing with limited mobility due to a neuromuscular disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth. Seven Days met the family for a tour of their unique home and to hear the story of how they met before they departed for California where Sarah had reconstructive foot surgery.
