‘A Rafter of Crankies’ back at Green Mountain Orchards | Entertainment

Sandglass Theater’s “A Rafter of Crankies” is returning to Green Mountain Orchards for the third year in a row. The event will take place on November 24 and 25 as part of the Putney Craft Tour on Thanksgiving Weekend. Crankies are panoramic scrolls that are “cranked” on the handles of a box, creating a charming and often funny or haunting performance. This year’s lineup includes the founders of “Rafter,” Eric Bass and Ines Zeller Bass, along with new artists with unique crankies. The event will also feature cider and baked snacks, as well as heating to keep the building cozy. Sandglass Theater will also be part of the Putney Craft Tour, offering puppets and crankies for sale at their workshop. Tickets for “A Rafter of Crankies” are available online or at the door, with discounts for students, seniors, and EBT and Medicaid cardholders. The event aims to provide a weekend of the arts and support the Putney Foodshelf. Additionally, the Putney Craft Tour, with 21 working studios open to visitors, will benefit local nonprofits and offer items for sale to support the Putney Foodshelf.
