Experimental duo of master improvisors plays series at 118 Elliot | Entertainment

KaneLoggiaHYPOTHESIS will be presenting Masters of Sonic Liberation #2, the second show in a three-part series, at 118 Elliot in Brattleboro. The show will feature world-renowned musicians in the field of experimental music and will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday. While there is no set price for admission, a $10 donation is suggested.

KaneLoggiaHYPOTHESIS is an experimental duo composed of Bonnie Kane and John Loggia, both of whom are master improvisors. Together, they explore various genres such as noise, psych, free jazz, and avant-garde music.

Bonnie Kane is an internationally renowned improviser known for her pioneering work in electronic processing for flute and saxophone. She has over 40 releases as a soloist and bandleader, and has been featured on albums by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Her early work is chronicled in the book “The Williamsburg Avant-Garde” by Cisco Bradley. Kane is also a record dealer and music curator, and is considered part of the lineage of free sonic space explorers.

John Loggia, on the other hand, is a multi-instrumentalist who draws out the percussive nature of instruments such as drums, piano, electronics, and guitar. In addition to his musical endeavors, Loggia is also involved in the arts as a painter, production designer for film, co-director of 118 Elliot, and executive producer for the documentary film “Fire Music.”

The show promises to be a unique and captivating exploration of experimental music, showcasing the talents of Kane and Loggia as they push the boundaries of sound and creativity.
