Guitarist Xander Naylor is heavily involved in the music scene, playing in bands like the Xander Naylor Trio, Mwenso & the Shakes, and Breathwork, as well as scoring films. He recently collaborated with writer-director Travis Burgess on the soundtrack for the murder mystery film “Hayseed.” The record, set to drop in September, will be the first release from VT Music Lab. Naylor describes the soundtrack as a mix of American influences with a touch of klezmer.
In Charlotte, artist and musician Zach Pollakoff is hosting a show featuring experimental music and art, with artists such as Ben Seretan and Lia Kohl. The event will take place at Bauschaus VT, a rental house once owned by painter Maize Bausch and her husband, architect Carl Bausch.
In Burlington, the Pinery’s South End Get Down event continues with the new Sundown Sessions concert series every other Saturday. Barbacoa, Madaila, and the Moonlight Project have already performed, with more acts lined up throughout the summer.
Maple Tree Place in Williston is hosting outdoor concerts featuring tribute acts like Britishmania and New York’s Finest. The Thea Wren Band will also bring some original music to the mix later in the summer. Additionally, the venue will pay tribute to artists like Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, and the Eagles.
