Reuben Jackson, a poet, jazz historian, music critic, and DJ, passed away at the age of 67. Known for his work on Vermont Public Radio’s “Friday Night Jazz,” Jackson’s love for music and gentle soul deeply impacted the Vermont community. Despite moving back to Washington, D.C. in 2018, he continued to be involved in the Vermont music scene. A new music series, A Sound Space Live, is set to kick off in Rutland’s Merchants Hall, featuring musicians from Vermont, the Upper Valley, and beyond. The indie-folk singer Audrey Pearl released her latest single, “A Time Like This,” addressing the destruction of nature near her childhood home.
