On the Beat: New Music From Cricket Blue and Rivan, Guster Play Stowe

Indie-folk duo Cricket Blue has released a new track, “I Hope You Never Think of Me”, the first new music since their 2019 album. The haunting and delicate song marks a departure from their previous work, with a more stripped-down folk sound and a more electronic production. The band is currently working on a new album and promises that their usual chamber folk and orchestra sound will be back “in full force”. The song is available on cricketblue.bandcamp.com.

The indie-rock band, Lucky Guster, will be playing a one-night stand at Aprรจs Only in Stowe on February 10. The show is sold out and the small venue holds only 225 people, so fans who missed out on tickets will have to wait for their upcoming tour.

Photographer Luke Awtry attended a paint and sip event with local painter Jesse Miles Snyder at the Venetian Cocktail & Soda Lounge in Burlington. The event included a traditional still life painting followed by a more playful approach, where participants were encouraged to defile their paintings with arms and legs. While Awtry won’t be trading his cameras for brushes anytime soon, he found the experience to be inspiring and unique.
