On the Beat: Music Returns to ArtsRiot, Grace Potter Launches the Grand Point Foundation

ArtsRiot in Burlington has quietly reopened with new owners after a period of uncertainty and weirdness. Former staff describe issues with security and non-payment of performers before the venue closed in 2022. The current owners, Pink Fox Hospitality Group, are focused on rebuilding community connections and slowly reintroducing live music to the venue. The new general manager, Kayla Maron, is starting with smaller, local bookings while working towards hosting larger acts in the future.

Grace Potter, a Vermont native, has announced the creation of the Grand Point Foundation, dedicated to supporting arts education and fostering artistic expression in the state. The foundation will provide grants to artists and support existing arts organizations, as well as launch artist programs, workshops, and a film festival.

Overall, ArtsRiot is slowly returning to the local music scene with hopes of becoming a hub of creativity once again. The venue recently hosted events and plans to showcase local talent, like queer punk band Blossom, in the coming weeks. On the other hand, Grace Potter aims to support Vermont artists through the Grand Point Foundation and provide opportunities for artistic expression and education in the state.
