Last week, Vermonters Noah Kahan and Bernie Sanders received Grammy nominations. Kahan, a singer-songwriter from Strafford, was nominated for Best New Artist for his album Stick Season, while Sanders received a nomination for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for his book It’s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism. Burlington pop-punk band the Silent Mile is celebrating their fifth anniversary with a show at Despacito in Burlington’s Old North End on November 18 after a two-year hiatus from gigging. Additionally, photographer Luke Awtry captured Rangus opening for Weakened Friends at the Higher Ground Showcase Lounge, and highlighted the work of lead guitarist and vocalist Veronica Stella Russell in promoting LGBTQ inclusion both on and offstage.
