The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department will be holding registration for all spring sports on Wednesday and Thursday, March 13th and 14th at the Gibson Aiken Center in the Conference Room from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department is pleased to announce the beginning of another session of Gymnastic Classes to be held at the Gibson Aiken Center, 207 Main Street.
Session IV of Gymnastics Classes will begin the week of March 25th and run through June 8th, 2019. The cost of the program is $100.00 for residents and $115.00 for non-residents or drop in for $15.
There will be no classes held April 15th – 19th or May 27th. Late registrations will be pro-rated. Classes are running on Mondays – Saturdays for ages 18 months and up. Amanda Montgomery will direct the Gymnastics Program. There is also an Open Gym time available on Wednesdays and Thursdays for ages 1-5 with a parent for $5.00. If there are special needs required for this program, please let us know by five days in advance.
Youth softball is for those in grades 3rd-6th. The cost will be $40.00 for Brattleboro Residents and $55.00 for Non-Residents. The Youth Softball League is designed to teach the players the fundamentals of softball along with providing them with an enjoyable experience. There will be one or two practices a week and some games in surrounding towns and may have more than one game a week. A t-shirt is included in the registration fee. There is a $10.00 fee for late registrations beginning March 15th.
This program is for boys grades 3rd through 6th grade and girls 3rd through 8th grade. There will be separate teams for boys & girls. The cost of the program will be as followed:
- Boys 3rd-6th, $15.00 for a Brattleboro Resident and $30 for a Non-Resident.
- Girls 3rd-4th grade will be, $45 for Brattleboro residents and $60 for non-residents.
- Girls 5th-8thgrade will be $95 for residents and $110 for non-residents.
Practice times are still to be determined. The fee for all girls includes a membership to US Lacrosse. Games and tournaments will be played within the region. There will be 2-3 practices a week and games/tournaments potentially on weekends or weekdays.
Boys & Girls who are born between September 1,
Boys & Girls who are born between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2014 are eligible to participate in T-ball. The cost will be $25 for Brattleboro Residents and $40 for Non-Residents. A t-shirt is included in this fee. Youths will learn the fundamentals of baseball in an appropriate way, stressing safety, skills and fun. This league runs for approximately two months. Players will be assigned a team and will have one practice and one game per week. Each child will need to bring their own glove.
Ongoing Fitness Classes
Take time out of your busy day to relax, regroup and build muscular strength. The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department is offering another session of Fitness Classes beginning March 4th at the Gibson-Aiken Center, 207 Main Street.
This is an eight-week program and is offered for 16 years of age and older. The cost of the program
- Mondays – Yoga
- Wednesdays – Strong Yoga
- Fridays – Yoga/Pilates
The instructor, Cyndy Gray, has a B.S. in Physical Education and is certified to teach both Yoga and Pilates. She also has a black belt in Karate.
