Tank Recording Studio in Burlington has launched an exciting initiative called “Local Music Showcase,” partnering with DJ Arty LaVigne and WNCS-FM The Point. Airing every Sunday at 6:30 p.m., this 30-minute show features Vermont artists recorded at Tank and includes live performances. Upcoming highlights include singer-songwriter Evan Jennison, the acid-jazz outfit Freeway Clyde, jam band LaMP, and indie-pop group Madaila. Additionally, Tank is debuting a new live series called TRS LIVE, which began on September 20 with a performance by Morning Giants. In parallel, the Middlebury College Performing Arts Series is set to kick off its 105th season on September 28. This historic series will feature a performance by cellist Sophie Shao, accompanied by an all-female ensemble comprising violinist Jennifer Frautschi and pianist Christina Dahl. They will perform pieces including Nadia Boulanger’s Three Pieces for Cello and Piano and Schubert’s Piano Trio No. 1 in B-flat Major, among others, at the Mahaney Arts Center. In another notable event, singer-songwriter Noah Kahan celebrated “Busyhead Project Day” on September 19, as announced by Vermont Governor Phil Scott. This recognition honors Kahan’s commitment to mental health through his Busyhead Project, which has raised over $2.5 million to enhance mental health care access. Kahan expressed his gratitude and planned to celebrate with some local treats.
