Join renowned woodworker and marquetry master Tim Coleman for a weekend exploration of veneer and marquetry. Learn to create patterns in veneer using the ancient technique of marquetry – inlaid work made from small pieces of variously colored wood. Both hand-powered and electric scroll saws will be available for students to try. Tim will teach two different patterns for students to practice. In addition to learning marquetry, this class is a great introduction to veneer work in general. Tim will cover substrates, adhesives, edge-banding and pressing, techniques that students can apply to any veneer project.
