Event Details

Let’s create something beautiful together & deepen our understanding of local ecosystems!

Zizia will lead an ecological sound art workshop to create wildflower seed bombs, a tangible conservation tool can enhance the environment of the surrounding community. Attendees will gain knowledge of the relations between astrology and local ecology and also hands-on experience rolling wildflower seed-bombs that will create pollinator habitats. All participants will leave with handmade seed-bombs ready to be sown for future gardens that will buzz with wildlife.

Zizia creates ecological sound art with field recordings, natural objects, and musical instruments. Astrologer Amber Wolfe composes scores from celestial maps corresponding to each concert. Conservationist Jarrod Fowler samples natural sounds and enhances habitats surrounding each concert. Together, Wolfe and Fowler harmonizes celestial and terrestrial music to create environment-specific performances.

Zizia will practice ecological sound art during two days at Epsilon Spires. First, Zizia will perform an outdoor concert in our socially-distanced Backlot Cinema on Saturday, September 12th, Scores will be composed according to local apparent astrology and instruments will reflect Vermont ecology. On Sunday, September 13th Zizia will review their celestial-terrestrial composition methods and lead an outdoor workshop to create wildflower seed bombs for pollinators.
