Event Details

Zizia creates ecological sound art with field recordings, natural objects, and musical instruments. Zizia is astrologer Amber Wolfe and conservationist Jarrod Fowler. Wolfe composes scores from celestial maps corresponding to each concert. Fowler samples natural sounds and enhances habitats surrounding each concert. Zizia harmonizes celestial and terrestrial music to create environment-specific performances.

Zizia will practice ecological sound art during two days at Epsilon Spires. Zizia will first perform a concert in our socially-distanced outdoor cinema on Saturday September 12th. Scores will be composed according to local apparent astrology and instruments will reflect Vermont ecology. On Sunday September 13th, Zizia will review their celestial-terrestrial composition methods and lead an outdoor socially-distanced workshop for all-ages according to concepts from biodynamics to create wildflower seed bombs for pollinators.
