Event Details

Using Deep Pour Epoxy works with students through planning, creating and finishing a Deep Pour Epoxy project with an emphasis on the fundamentals including, creating a leak proof mold, pour vs casting, working with design elements, and creating a clear finish. This course helps students avoid learning pains and pitfalls by working in class with Deep Pour Epoxy to create a set of 4 coasters using various design elements.

Why 4 coasters? This allows us to explore in class the difference between a poured finish and a casting. Students will be taught how to make their own leak-proof mold, in addition will be working with a silicone molds. Other class elements include reviewing various forms of casting resin, how to pour and work in layers, mixing correctly and avoiding over-stirring, adding color and effects, creating a clear finish, dealing with air bubbles, and finishing techniques.

The intentional pace of this course, three 2-hour classes spread across 3 weeks, makes the most of working with this very slow curing resin. Cost of this course includes all tools and materials, however students are strongly encouraged to bring a variety of design elements to include in their project.
