TAIZE SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE, NOVEMBER 3, 4 P.M

Our candlelit service at St. Michael’s as we celebrate All Saints’ Day features simple harmonious chants, short readings or prayers, periods of silence, and the lighting of candles as we remember those whom we love but see no more. Those who wish may bring a photo or a memorial object to place near the candle lighting area.

Taize gets its name from the monastic community in the village of Taize, France which was founded in 1940 and which served as a shelter for political refugees fleeing persecution during World War II. Thousands of pilgrims still travel to the ecumenical, monastic community of Taize yearly to attend teachings on trust, peace and reconciliation.

This service is open to anyone in the community regardless of faith or religious affiliation.
At St. Michael’s we believe that God’s love is unconditional. No matter where you are in your life and whatever your age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, economic condition, physical or mental ability, you are welcome here. We affirm the worth, dignity, and gifts of every person as a beloved child of God.
