Pour yourself a glass of wine or favorite beverage and join us on Zoom for a preview of the incredible items that have been donated for our upcoming online benefit auction. BMAC Director Danny Lichtenfeld, Chief Curator Mara Williams, Ethan Merrill of Duane Merrill & Company Auctioneers & Appraisers, and David Howell, a former BMAC trustee and winery consultant, will showcase selected items and do their best to entice you to bid generously!
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to cancel our 2020 Spring Gala & Benefit Auction, our biggest annual fundraiser, providing essential support for our year-round education programming. Thankfully, Vermont’s largest auction house, Duane Merrill and Company Auctioneers and Appraisers, has kindly agreed to host this online auction on BMAC’s behalf, in an attempt to help us recoup some of that lost revenue.
The auction itself will take place on Friday, September 4, beginning at 9:45 a.m. Among the many items to be offered, approximately 100 in total, are an oil painting by Maurice Utrillo, a pastel and a rare limited-edition print of a Martha’s Vineyard harbor scene by Wolf Kahn, an oil-on-paper painting by Emily Mason, a watercolor by Eric Aho, as well as paintings by Michael Abrams, Jim Giddings, Carolyn Enz Hack, Charlie Hunter, Julia Jensen, Gordon Jones, Mallory Lake, Stephen Lloyd, Petria Mitchell, Fiona Morehouse, James Urbaska, and others. Other items include a dining room table handcrafted by master Vermont furniture maker Garrett Hack, a set of six mid-century modern chairs by Danish designer Jens Risom, two room-size Persian rugs, an assortment of rare wines from Napa Valley, a pair of “art sneakers” by sculptor Andy Yoder, and much more.
