River Gallery School Benefit Auction is being held November 10th

The River Gallery School Benefit Auction is being held in-house for the first time this year on Saturday, November 10th. The art school is celebrating 42 years of supporting artmaking for all, and the new expanded Main Street Studio and Gallery 34, we’re excited to invite the town into the studios for this fun-filled evening.

The studios will be transformed from the usual daily function of art classes for kids, teens, and adults (easels, paint, and artwork everywhere) to an event venue, with wonderful crafts, gift certificates and donations from local vendors up for bid, and trips ranging from an African photo-safari to a week in a Tuscan villa. Passed hors-d'oeuvres and a cash bar will keep patrons busy and happy. There will be a letterpress demo of printed cards, and surprise pop-up door prizes to keep the excitement high.

Silent Auction Items

A raffle drawing will also be part of the evening’s festivities. Tickets are being sold for a chance to win your choice of a Perception kayak and Thule car carrier, a semester to an RGS class, a Ric Campman framed “Great Joy” painting, or a whimsical handmade child’s chair in the shape of a giraffe.

Preview the growing list of generous donations from area artisans and merchants at the website, and buy raffle and event tickets online or by calling the school at 802-257-1577. The RGS Main Street windows will preview some of the items for bid during early November, and the school’s popular ‘Clothesline Postcard Show + Sale’ will be hung for the month of November as well.

The event begins at promptly at 5 pm on Saturday, November 10th; buying your ticket ahead online will let you skip the line and get right to the fun. The various areas of bid-on objects will be closed consecutively beginning at 7 pm, and the 4 raffle winners will be picked at 7:30 to wrap up the event.

All the proceeds benefit the inclusive programs of the school, including extensive scholarships, Outreach programming, and overall operating expenses. For more information about classes and workshops or to add your name to our mailing list please visit or call 802-257-1577 or come by the school at 32 Main Street in Brattleboro.
