Montpelier has faced challenges with floods, fires, and the closing of GuitarSam. This led to the creation of the Naive Melody Instrument Exchange, a consignment-based musical instrument store started by local musicians. Naive Melody is currently looking for instruments to sell and is hoping to open soon. Vermont native Erin Bentlage has been nominated for the Grammys, and musicians Kat Wright and Brett Hughes are touring Vermont with their holiday show. Wright and Hughes have been performing songs for the holidays for 10 years, and this year, they will be joined by bassist Tyler Bolles and luthier Will Seeders at various venues across the state.
